presenting Jennifer Denys!

Welcome to Craving Erotic Romance Blogspot.

Today we’re presenting Author: Jennifer Denys
1)      Have you always wanted to be an author?
Yes, even as a youngster I was writing. I remember aged about 14 I wrote a play for the local kids called 'Roberta Hood and her Merry Ladies'! We then performed it - I was the director AND author AND leading lady!!
But it wasn't until the advent of ebooks and any length being acceptable and discovering the novella that I finally found my preferred writing length.
2)      What genre(s) do you write?
I write erotic romance - and within that I like to develop myself as an author and try different sub genre. So I have several BDSM stories published, some contemporary that I call my 'romantic comedies', three sci-fi, three paranormal, and my first gay story (Alien Manhunt) is out next month. My latest book ‘Torn Between Two Lovers’ crosses genres – it is a werewolf story set in a werewolf BDSM club!
3)      Have you ever self published?
Nope. Too much hard work. I like to spend my time writing.
4)      Who or what inspired you to write your first book?
If you are referring to my first published book 'Just Good Friends' that is dedicated to all my fav sci fi authors. The hero in that discovers the heroine has a secret stash of erotic romances and instead of reading the latest sci-fi he persuades her to discuss her fav erotic romances. One thing leads to another and they start practising scenes from those books. All of them are loosely based on real erotic romances that I love from authors like Debra Glass, Janine Ashbless, Mari Carr and several others.
5)      How many hours in a day might you write?
It varies. I work full time with a long commute so most evenings I am too tired. I try to pace myself and only write at the weekend - but even then it depends how much energy I have. Of course, if I come up with a fabulous idea I may have a desperate need to sit down immediately I arrive home and get it written - or at least, get the idea plotted before I lose the inspiration!
6)      Are you a plotter or a pantser?
Both. LOL. I write up the plot as if it was a synopsis or blurb and spread that over the number of chapters I usually write (which will depend on how many characters - so for MF stories maybe 10 or 12 chapters, but for MFM or more it could be 15-18 chapters. This is so I can give equal points of view to each character). By spreading it out I make sure I don't have all the sex scenes, or action scenes, at the beginning, or end. Then I just start writing. So in the book just out 'Torn Between Two Lovers' I knew the main characters would rescue some kids during a storm but I had no idea how or where until I started writing.
Often the characters or plot will take a turn I hadn't expected, but that's the fun of writing.
7)      Do you ever find yourself slipping away and becoming so immersed in your story it affects how you relate to others?
Ah now, you will have to ask my friends that question! LOL. I do have times when my pet rabbit, who is a house rabbit, will jump on the laptop or Ipad. It's her way of saying, "I want some attention now!"
8)      Are you in any of your books?
There are aspects of my character or looks in pretty much all of my heroines. The last book out 'Bounty Hunters' Captive' had a heroine who was a sci-fi geek. Need I say more.....
9)      What do your friends and family have to say about your writing?
I’ve had a variety of comments from, "You dark horse, I didn't know you had it in you" to "You're my auntie. I don't want to know you have sex." This was from my niece who is only nine years younger than me. *roll eyes* I haven't told her half what I do to research my stories. Particularly the BDSM ones.......
10) Please share an excerpt from your book that totally spoke to you when you put the words down on paper.
From: (insert title of book and add in cover here) ‘Torn Between Two Lovers’. I really loved playing off different aspects of the story – one of the heroine’s lovers is a werewolf, the other a human, one into BDSM, the other into sensation play, one loves nature, the other hates it. Both appeals to the heroine for different reasons and she finds it hard to choose. Available from

The rain lashed at Evie’s face as she exited her car, hitting her cheeks like pinpricks, and she turned away, causing her hair to blow into her eyes. Irritated, she swiped it away with a growl.
Like members of her wolf family, she abhorred storms. It didn’t matter when she was in her wolf self as her fur was thick and waterproof, but when it was turning into a gale like this one was, she instinctively wanted to find her fellow wolves and curl up under the pines, noses tucked in, sharing heat, staying safe.
Instead she was in her human form about to visit Jace.
Things had got better with Stefan. In the last week he had worked hard to refresh her submissive training, and it had been successful. She seemed to have gotten past her fears. In the meantime, he was somehow gentler than he had been before, more caring. It was a welcome surprise. Evie wondered if it was because of the attack or because he feared her leaving him for Jace.
But whether to marry him or not was still up in the air, and she knew he desperately wanted an answer from her. He had even gone as far as telling her that he would take no other submissives if she was his mate as well as his sub.
“Really?” She had been skeptical.
He had cupped her face. “If that’s what it takes for you to be my mate.”
Evie believed him, but somehow, her past jealousies didn’t matter that much—except Brenda. She would always be the thorn in Evie’s side. The issue instead was which of her lovers she would miss more if she had to give one up. That was why she was now standing outside Jace’s front door—to make a decision one way or another.
Meanwhile, part of her was apprehensive that Jace wouldn’t want to see her or his leave was about to come to an end. She wondered if she had told him she loved him when they’d been together if it would have made a difference.
Evie gave a wry grin. The ideal situation would be to have the two men, like Tasha had her four. She’d have the best of both worlds then, Stefan and the BDSM, Jace and the romance—except that Stefan would never allow it. She was also concerned what Stefan would say if he found out where she was now.
The wind changed direction at that moment, and a huge gust blew her forward just as Jace opened the door. Bracing herself for hard wood, instead she landed in a pair of soft arms. A welcoming embrace, she thought. Or maybe that was just wishful thinking.
“Whatever are you doing out here, Evie? For God’s sake, come on in.”
He ushered her inside and then struggled to close the door against the wind before turning around to face her.
Evie didn’t say a word, just drank in the gorgeous sight of him. His dark hair glittering with raindrops, eyes that seemed confused, yet pleased to see her.
“It’s hell out there!” He smiled and shook his head to rid himself of the water in his hair.
Her heart fluttered. It was such a wolf thing to do she had to remind herself that he was human.
Clearing her throat, she finally responded. “It certainly is.”
Jace stood for a moment. “Um, as much as it’s wonderful to see you, why are you here?”
Evie shrugged. “I missed you,” she said in a quiet voice.
He thumbed over his shoulder, indicating outside, and grimaced. “And is the big guy, Mr. Rock-hard-muscles-who-will-smash-me-to-pieces or tear-me-limb-from-limb, gonna turn up next?”
She chuckled at his description of Stefan. Poor Jace had yet to see Stefan’s softer side. “Probably not.”
Jace lifted an eyebrow. “I was hoping it would be a ‘definitely not.’ I adore that you are here, but I also value my life, sweetheart.”
Closing her eyes, she bowed her head, trying to blink back tears. She had to make a decision. And make it now. Stefan or Jace? Rough or smooth? Dominant or submissive? Werewolf or human? She loved Stefan desperately, and she loved Jace equally.

10)  Which actor/character(s) would play the starring role? (you can insert pics or just names or both here)
I would have actress, Blake Lively playing Evie (tall, slender, ash blonde, mid twenties):

Actor Dolph Lungren (as he looks here in his younger days!) playing werewolf Stefan (dark blond, very tall, hunky, 32, arrogant):

And actor Will Forte playing human, Jace (dark, same height as Evie, average body for a young male in his late twenties, good looking):

Monday's Scintillating Interview

Welcome to Craving Erotic Romance Blogspot.

Today we’re presenting Author: Suzy Shearer
1) Have you always wanted to be an author? No, it has only been in the last few years that I have started writing, I am actually an Artist.
2) What genre(s) do you write?  Erotic BDSM Romance and Erotic Paranormal Romance.
3)  Have you ever self published? No.
4) Who or what inspired you to write your first book?   A nightmare I had  I wrote it down six years ago and then last year realised it would make the basis for a novel.
5) How many hours in a day might you write? Luckily, I live alone and don't have a partner so I can write whenever as long as I don't have a painting commission.  If it is working well, I can write all day; other times it might be only an hour or not at all.
6) Are you a plotter or a planster? It just happens.  I scour the internet for interesting looking men who spark my interest, print out a photo of them and hang it in front of my computer. Then the writing starts. Those pictures in front of me tend to dictate where they want to go.
I tend to have older heroes and heroines, because I want to show that people over 40 are just as sexy, or maybe more so, than those under. I do keep a spreadsheet of all my characters, their ages, physical descriptions, kinks and relationships to others as most tend to meet up at some point in time and they get their own stories.
7) Do you ever find yourself slipping away and becoming so immersed in your  story it affects how you relate to others? Lol ... always!
8) Are you in any of your books? Yes, most definitely.  It is easier to write elements of yourself in your heroines.
9) What do your friends and family have to say about you writing? My sons are very proud but very embarrassed that their “elderly” mother writes very graphic erotic novels, while my daughter-in-law thinks it is the best thing ever!  My friends all want copies!
10) Please share an excerpt from one of your books.

From: The Club: Bound - Book one in the series.
 The Club: Bound (MF)
Lisa was mortified. It was bad enough that she was half-naked under the kimono, but now she was without a way home, had been grabbed, and then caused a scene. She would have to call a taxi. She felt so embarrassed by what had just occurred. She stood shakily.
“Please, sit down. I am so sorry this has happened to you. I will arrange transport for you if you wish to leave but I would really love you to stay for a while and relax.”
He signalled the barman, who came around the bar and put another drink in front of her. “Don’t worry, alcohol free.” He winked at her. “I knew the boss would fix things.”
“Thank you, thank you both. I really do not understand it. He knew when we first met that I was not interested in him except as a friend. I am so sorry to cause such trouble, I will leave.”
“No, please don’t go, and it certainly wasn’t you who caused any trouble. I would hate this experience to sour you against The Club. As for that fool, I imagine his ego didn’t like it, a very attractive woman turning him down.”
Lisa laughed. “Attractive? It is okay, you do not have to flatter me. Look, I will stay for a short while, if only to stop shaking.” They both sat.
“No flattery. You are a very beautiful and desirable woman. I doubt many men would turn down a chance to meet you.”
Just then, Fleur came over to them. “Master,” she said, bowing her head and kneeling in front of the owner.
Lisa drew a gasp and looked from one to the other. He put a hand under Fleur’s chin and told her she could relax for the moment, then leant forward, helped her stand and kissed her, then pulled her onto his lap.
“I see you’ve met Lisa. I was hoping to introduce her to you, Richard. We met in the change area. I had to put a new lace in my boot.” She held out on leg for him to see and he ran his hand along it and up across her thigh to rub her mound.
Richard waved for a drink for her as he told what had happened and Fleur looked shocked.
“How could he? She wears green! That is terrible, Lisa, trying to get you drunk. As if that was not enough, he then grabs you! Oh, Lisa, I am so sorry, especially after me telling you how safe this club is.”
“It isn’t your fault, Fleur.” Lisa had finally stopped shaking and she took a sip of her drink. “I guess I just didn’t see what he really was like.”
Fleur smiled warmly and looked up into the man’s face. “This is my husband, Richard, and this is his club. You probably made his evening, he loves to rescue fair maidens,” she joked.
Richard held out his hand and Lisa shook it saying hello and thank you. “So, Lisa, how about we start all over again and pretend you have only just arrived.”
Lisa smiled at them both, maybe it would be best to put this behind her. She would stay for a little while then grab a cab home. “That sounds like a good idea. I would love to forget what happened.”
“Would you be interested in a little tour? And importantly, are you interested in meeting up with someone?”
“A tour, yes, but not sure about meeting up with anyone. I am not interested in casual sex or anything like that. Plus, well, I imagine most of the men here are already attached and those that aren’t probably are not looking for a large over-fifty-five woman, so that puts me at a disadvantage.”
Fleur burst out laughing. “Honey, it wouldn’t matter if you were seventy or eighty. You are gorgeous with such natural sex appeal. I bet there would be at least a dozen men lining up once they see you and see you wearing green. Oh, and also just as many women.” She turned to her husband. “Isn’t she gorgeous, Richard?”
“I have already told her what a beautiful woman she is but she just doesn’t believe me. How about a little wager, Miss Lisa?”
“Mmm…yes. We tour The Club and, if at the end of the tour you haven’t been approached by at least six unattached men and women then I will give you six months’ membership free.”
Lisa was stunned, she knew membership for these clubs could run into thousands but she just laughed and said, “Er…I’m not into women.”
Richard held out his hand and said, “Okay, six men. Deal?” Fleur was giggling. She nodded her head for Lisa to agree.
“I think you are both crazy. What happens if you’re wrong?”
Richard laughed. “No chance!” With that, she put her hand into Richard’s and they shook.
Thanks for coming along today, Suzy, and we wish you much luck with your series!
